CHORAL ARTS MISSION & HISTORY
The West Virginia Choral Arts Foundation is a private, not-for-profit
fundraising and advocacy organization. The Foundation presently supports four
choral ensembles in the area: Camerata Appalachia, Chanticleer Children’s
Chorus, Larry Parsons Chorale, and the Madrigal Singers of Clarksburg.
Collectively, these groups involve singers from age 4 through well beyond
retirement years in their choral programs and an inestimable number of patrons
around the state enjoy the artistry that the WVCAF provides.
Formed in 1993, the WVCAF supports and promotes choral arts education and
performance throughout the state of West Virginia by providing for the operation
and funding for its four ensembles. The Foundation also serves as a sponsor for
the West Virginia residency for national groups, such as the American Boys
Choir, to promote interest in and awareness of choral music locally and
statewide. The goal to achieve the highest possible quality of performance and
musicianship, both for the enjoyment of the audience as well as for the benefit
of each of the performers, is constantly being pushed to greater levels.
The WVCAF is located in the West Virginia Center for Choral Arts
at 508 E. Pike Street in
Clarksburg, WV. This facility serves not only as the offices, but also as
rehearsal and performance hall for all of the ensembles. Its wonderful acoustics, tiered performance area, ample seating and
beautiful design features make it an ideal performance hall.
